    VT Group is seeking a Oil Lab Technician in Fort. Bragg, NC

    Responsibilities

    Entry-level lab tech position. Conducts spectrometric and physical property analysis of oil samples received from participating Department of Defense aeronautical and non-aeronautical equipment. Performs laboratory testing according to prescribed standards and responsible for the maintenance and operation of all spectrometers and physical test equipment.

     

    • Receives and prepares oil samples for analysis.
    • Performs analysis of used oil samples utilizing various spectrometers, viscometers, particle counters, titrators, and related instruments.
    • Updates and modifies lab database as assigned.
    • Will record and maintain customer accounts.
    • Assists customers in person and over the phone as needed.

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience:

    • High school degree or equivalent & completion of structured, discipline-focused Government training programs (i.e. formal training programs sponsored by the Department of Defense, Department of Transportation, Department of State, or an individual military branch such as the U.S. Navy C School), commercial trade schools, or industry-sponsored apprenticeship or technical certification programs.
    • 2 or more years experience testing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing complex engineering systems and products, including hardware and software configurations
    • 1-year experience preparing and reviewing technical documentation.
    • Experience in analytical lab work utilizing auto-samplers, electronic balances, and a variety of instrumentation.
    • Associates Degree and Two years of technical training or experience in basic laboratory operations, mechanical engineering, or reliability engineering.

    Clearance:

    • Active Secret clearance

    Certification:

    • Desired, LLA I or must be able to obtain within 12 months of hire.
