    VT Group is seeking a Design Engineer Specialist in Chantilly, VA or Washington, DC.



    • Apply a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments; gathering technical requirements, installation overseeing for cable plant infrastructure, installation documentation, technical support, VoIP, and Audio Visual/VTC set up.
    • Plans and leads major technology assignments. Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success. Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
    • Provides development of the IDP, IDP process and the implementation of procedures that conforms to the requirements of the contract.
    • Provides an IDP in accordance with the customers’ site-specific technical requirements.
    • Provides an independent assessment of how the project's installation design process is being implemented relative to the defined process and recommends methods to optimize the organization's process.
    • May be responsible for all activities involving quality assurance and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
    • Conducts audits and reviews/analyzes data and documentation.


    • At least 5 years’ experience in design changes in the ongoing design, installation, integration and testing of data network and IT-related infrastructure projects.
    • Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD®) BICSI Credentials highly preferred.

    • Active Secret Clearance required.
