    VT Group is seeking Maintenance Trade Mechanic located in Virginia Beach, VA.

    Responsibilities

    Perform and/or assist with general tasks requiring accumulated practical skill and knowledge in such trades as sheet metal, machining, finishing, and assembly. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within these various fields.  Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.  Work under the direction and assistance of an immediate supervisor or paired with an experienced mechanic.

     

    Specific duties include:

    • Interpret and/or read blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, sequence of operations, and setup requirements all while under direct supervision.
    • Measure, mark, and scribe reference points on material/work-piece as guides for subsequent manufacturing.
    • Operate Machinery such as lathes, mills, spot-welder, plasma-cutter, press brakes, shears, punches, rollers, drill presses, and vertical/horizontal band saws to fabricate parts to specifications.
    • Verify the conformance of finished work piece to blueprints/specifications.
    • Fit-up and assemble parts into complete assemblies.
    • Verify dimensions and alignment of assemblies.
    • Utilize hand-tools such as grinders, drills, rivet guns, saws, scribes, calipers, protractor, and combination squares. 
    • Perform any other collateral duties that may be assigned.

     

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience:

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
    • Six months combined related experience and/or training in manufacturing; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
    • Experience utilizing a CNC Plasma Cutting Machine and a Vertical Band-Saw.

      

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 

    • Valid Driver's License

     

    Other:

    •  Must be able to travel as required.
