    VT Group is seeking a Scheduler located in Virginia Beach, VA.

    Responsibilities

    • Plans, prepares and controls production ship schedules and coordinates with primary client to ensure a controlled flow of approved tasks are executed to meet the NAVY's ship, submarine, and aircraft carrier modernization milestones. Advises management of the status of work in progress, technical drawing availability, and potential production problems to ensure that the technical products, selected records and services are delivered to schedule. Report progress to Project Manager.
    • Reviews the specification packages for potential conflicts within the individual job and other tasks/jobs being executed on the assigned project.
    • Assists in the development of estimates for specific tasks concurrent with schedule development when necessary.
    • Develops and incorporates subcontractors and VT work into shipyard Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
    • Integrates manpower requirements across all programs.
    • Supports all manpower planning and scheduling functions for all programs.
    • Coordinates with Program Office, Contracts Department, Project Managers and Advance Planning in developing and scheduling work tasks.
    • Conducts ship checks as needed to scope work.
    • Supports in house process and procedures development including managing file structure and template development for planning and estimating work.

    Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience:

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
    • Five years of experience in ship repair industry or equivalent combination of Degree from Maritime Institute and on the job experience.
    • Must have shipboard installation experience.
    • Prior defense contracting or military experience preferred.

     

    Other Qualifications:

    • Some travel required. Must be able and willing to travel.
    • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Products including Project.
    • Experience in computerized planning and resourcing.

     

    This position are contingent upon contract award.
