    VT Group is seeking a Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer/Lead located in San Diego, CA.

    Responsibilities

    • Serve as technical EHF Teleport technical advisor and will assist in maintaining EHF Teleport earth terminals and baseband equipment; provide on-site technical support for the integration of EHF Teleport IT hardware and software upgrades modifications.
    • Provide activity based technical support for process configuration, and provide recommendations for alternative courses of action to more effectively accomplish the integration of upgrades and modifications.
    • Provide technical support for maintenance of the system architecture configuration and baseline to meet the site program objectives; technical and engineering support for site upgrades and modifications to site specific CONOPS and make recommendations for the CONOPS, which govern Navy-wide EHF TIP operations; technical support to Joint and Fleet exercises, and provide after action report input to cognizant NCTS site personnel that identify potential problems and recommend solutions; Teleport EHF operation and maintenance over-the shoulder training to include system interfaces, as required; support for EHF Teleport specific restoral procedures; other technical C4I assistance as requested by the FSET AOR Lead and FRD.
    • Coordinate trouble shooting efforts across the entire EHF Teleport system equipment string (end to end, systems of systems).
    • Review on-site design configurations and provide the customer with recommendations for improvement or alternative strategies.
    • Provide subject matter expertise in the conduct of preliminary testing after integration and configuration of site upgrades and modifications; work closely with Government site engineering and military personnel to support integration and reconfiguration of upgrades and modifications in support of the command’s oversight and testing mission; assist Military Personnel (MILPERS) with the operation of EHF Teleport during operational surges; follow established procedures to ensure all systems are interoperable while providing seamless services during normal operations and contingency situations; report to the lead FSE assigned to NCTS SATCOM/Technical Control section and COMNAVCENT/ COMFIFTHFLT customers.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Bachelor’s Degree in Wireless Communications or Bachelor’s Degree in Microwave/RF Engineering. Bachelor’s Degree may be substituted with six (6) years of working experience with maintenance of Navy afloat and ashore radio systems.
    • Four (4) years of direct maintenance of Navy satellite systems (e.g. NMT, WSC-6, CBSP).
    • Four (4) years of direct maintenance of Navy line of sight systems (e.g. DMR, URT-23, URC-131).
    • Direct experience with frequency management and technical control of RF mediums between Navy platforms and terrestrial communication stations.
    • Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI
