    VT Group is seeking a Drafter located in Charleston, SC.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepares drafting projects requiring advanced knowledge and skill in drafting methods, procedures, and techniques.
    • Prepares clear, complete and accurate detailed drawings of structures, mechanical and electrical equipment, piping and duct systems and other similar equipment, systems and assemblies.
    • Drawings completed are of complex design involving considerable skill in visualization.
    • Prepares complete sets of complex drawings that include multiple views, detail, and assembly
    • Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension of parts, material to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project
    • Determines views and detail drawings using sketches and verbal information supplied by engineers or designers
    • Compiles data using precedents, manufacturers' catalogs technical manuals, specifications, etc.
    • May perform site surveys or ship checks with senior level drafters
    • Uses computer assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software to produce advanced drawings for project implementation

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience

    • BS plus two years of experience, AS plus three years of experience or five years of experience with HS degree or equivalent in related field.
    • Previous government contracting or military experience is preferred

     

    Other:

    • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Products and CAD/CAM software
    • Must be intimately familiar with the SPAWAR Shore Installation Process Handbook.
