VT Group is seeking Driver located in Virginia Beach, VA.

Responsibilities

The company driver is responsible for conveying materials, equipment, and staff of the organization to the areas where they are required. In some cases, the driver may likewise be tasked with driving different sorts of vehicles as required. May also perform general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials.  Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. 

 

Specific duties include:

  • Operate trucks for the delivery, pickup and relocation of company products and materials.
  • Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and reports any discrepancies indicating truck condition to supervisor.
  • Completes and provides required reports to supervisor. Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations.
  • Maintain and protect all property in excellent condition.
  • Must be able to load materials on trucks and trailers to meet safety requirements.
  • The following tasks are typical of this occupation: loads and unloads trucks, moves supplies and materials to proper location, stacks materials for storage collects refuse and salvageable materials,  moves heavy pieces of machinery and equipment, assists in installation of communications hardware, performs minor equipment repairs as directed.  
  • Must be a skilled driver and must have the proper license and authorization to drive. 

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. In addition, he/she must be appropriately authorized to drive vehicles. Aside from these qualifications, the driver should be proficient in the services he/she renders, and comply with all traffic rules. Must have a clean DMV record. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to drive. Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum of one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

 

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid Driver's License

 

Other:

  • Must be able to travel as required
  • Must have a clean driving record and meet company standards to drive company vehicles.
  • Must have sufficient knowledge of traffic laws and hold fast entirely to them.
  • Experience driving a 5 ton, F250, Box truck, Forklift.
