VT Group is seeking Project Manager located in Virginia Beach, VA or Charleston, SC.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and manages all skilled professionals, technical and support positions assigned to multiple, diverse and complex projects.
  • Company representative for customers and clients.
  • Plans, coordinates and resolves technical issues of designated project to ensure that goals or objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
  • Reviews complex high value projects proposals or plans to determine time frames, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project.
  • Establish work plan and staffing for each phase of project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
  • Confers with project staff to outline work schedule and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
  • Directs and coordinates activity of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedule or plans as required.
  • Prepares projects for management, clients, or others.
  • Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.
  • Coordinates project activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies.
  • Directly supervises one or more employees including supervisors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Positions routinely supervised are Lead Installers and Installers as well as subcontractors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and six years Structured Cabling experience; or Associate's degree and eight years Structured Cabling experience, or High School Diploma and ten years Structured Cabling experience.
  • Must have experience using hand tools of Structured Cabling and related trades. This includes but is not limited to, termination techniques, construction equipment such as scaffolding, hoists, pulleys, (concrete, brick & block) attachment devices, Unistrut steel support, etc.
  • Must be proficient with computers and current business software applications within the MS Office environment, specifically MS Project.
  • Must have at least three years of management experience.
  • BICSI RCDD is required
  • Top Secret SCI eligible Security Clearance is required.
  • Must be able travel CONUS as needed
