Here at VT Group, our business units provide turnkey engineering and logistics, enterprise Information Technology, and C5ISR services worldwide, primarily in the DOD, commercial, and healthcare arenas.



VT Group is seeking Telecommunications Mechanic 3 who is able to travel 100% but based in either Pensacola, FL; Jacksonville, FL; or Charleston, SC.


  • Will assist with reporting, pulling, terminating and testing cables.

  • Assists in the installation of structured cabling systems (fiber optic and copper).

  • Assists in building telecommunication closets while adhering to applicable standards and specifications.

  • Ensures grounding and bonding are compliant with applicable standards and codes.

  • Ensures fire stopping procedures are accurately followed.

  • Assists in testing and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems.

  • Ensures transmission fundamentals of copper and fiber media are maintained.

  • Uses knowledge of and experience with Outside Plant operations to ensure rodding, roping, and fiber splicing are properly performed.

  • Troubleshoots entire communications system to determine if problems are related to hardware or cabling.

  • Tests and evaluates newly installed or existing hardware to determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility.

  • Utilizes technical manuals and brochures to determine equipment which meets establishment requirements.

  • Complies, reviews and/or submits other reports, such as site reports or project status reports, as required by management.



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Five years of related experience pulliing, terminating and testing cables.



Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid driver's license if driving a company owned or rented vehicle
  • BICSI certification preferred



  • Must have secret level clearance, TS/SCI preferred
  • Must be able to travel 100% of the time
