VT Group is seeking Contracts Administrator 2 located in Virginia Beach, VA.

Responsibilities

Directs activities concerned with contracts for purchase or sale of equipment, materials, products, or service by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

 

Specific duties include:

 

  • Examines estimates of material, equipment, and production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepares bids, process specifications, test and progress reports, and other exhibits that may be required.
  • Reviews bids from other firms for conformity to contract requirements and determines acceptable bids.
  • Negotiates contract with customer or bidder.
  • Awards and administers contracts, including final approval of payment.
  • Requests or approves amendments to or extensions of contracts.
  • Advises planning and production departments of contractual rights and obligations.
  • Compiles data for preparing estimates.
  • Maintains contract and contractor status databases.
  • Reviews all correspondence concerning contractors and responds as necessary.
  • Establishes and maintains contact with contractors to ensure the smooth working of the contract awarding process.
  • Coordinates work of sales department with production and shipping department to implement fulfillment of contracts.
  • Acts as liaison between company and subcontractors.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree plus four years, Associates, plus six years experience.  Master's degree preferred; or 10 or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other:

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have experience with Microsoft Office software.
